JOB DUTIES
Direct Sales
- Achieve quarterly revenue goals.
- Follow booking guidelines as determined by revenue management.
- Maximization of revenue potential for groups and corporate accounts by creating maximum value for the customer and hotel.
- Assist Director of Sales/GM/Revenue Manager in implementing strategies/action plans to generate revenues for the hotel.
- Assist Director of Sales/GM to stimulate productivity of all sales staff through positive guidance, development, training and support.
- Active solicitation of Key Accounts and Target Accounts to generate direct sales.
- Actively contribute to creating a proactive solicitation environment/culture.
- Assist the Director of Sales/GM in developing and implementing the budgeting and forecasting process.
- Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows.
- Support and promote all internal programs to increase positive customer and employee awareness.
- Write and execute S.M.A.R.T. action plans.
- Write creative proposals to win business and move market share.
- Responsible for productive relationship management of customers. Demonstrate the ability to maintain professional boundaries while having a friendly relationship with clients.
- Ensure personal presentation is of the highest standards at all times to project a professional image to clients.
- Ensure that all communications with customers are handled within the required time frame and to the Hotel standards.
- Be present to meet and greet customers as appropriate.
- Entertain prospective clients where appropriate.
- Understand key trends in the market and react in a timely manner with initiatives.
- Travel to conduct outside calls and promote the hotel.
- Document all activities in Sales System.
- Develop marketing strategies by analyzing historical, current and future hotel/market trends and create selling strategies to capture the maximum amount of revenue.
- Maintain Sales Team’s focus on a Proactive Solicitation environment.
- Assists in the planning strategies of the Group Sales effort and in preparation of the Marketing plan as it pertains to group sales.
- Promote high visibility of hotel through active involvement in industry associations and trade shows
- Assist in the development of the annual budget.
- Participate in management meetings to discuss budget forecast, rate and pace reports.
- Partner with operations team to notify, coordinate customer specifications, effectively respond to customer issues and comments to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Responsible for negotiating contracts and the implementation and set ups as required.
- Participate in Hotel weekly staff meeting.
- Participate in any projects as assigned.
- Watch for safety hazards and report them immediately to your Department Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as directed, developed or assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 4 years previous hotel or resort sales experience.
- College degree or High School Diploma with related experience.
- Must be able to read, write, an understand English.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including leading and participating in formal presentations.
- Strong negotiation skills as well as the ability to cultivate leads, build relations, and close the deal.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong computer skills. Microsoft Office, Delphi, other programs as it pertains to this position.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Strong desire to deliver high quality of customer service.
- Detail oriented and organized as it pertains to accuracy and efficiency.
- Good personnel and management and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel out of town.

- Constant need to perform the following physical activities: writing, grasping, turning, finger dexterity.
- Occasional need to stand for long periods of time.
- Lifting/carrying up to 10 lbs. frequently and 25 lbs. occasionally.
- Vision requirements: constant need to view computer monitor and small print. Frequent need to see small details and things clearly beyond arms’ reach.
- Hearing requirements: constant need to speak on telephone and/or two-way radio, respond to general public and converse with staff. Ability to hear fire alarms and emergency equipment.
