The Kitchen Supervisor at Timber Cove Resort serves as the customer service ambassador by insuring the food and beverages served at Timber Cove always meets or exceeds the resort’s standards of excellence at all times. They report to the Food & Beverage Manager and supervise the operations of the back of house kitchen staff, promoting a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets and minimal expenses. The resort team prides themselves in upholding a high standard of professionalism and service that the guests have come to enjoy, and will look to the kitchen staff to help meet guest expectations.

- This is a leadership position responsible for the development and operation of their team to support one of the most critical factors in our success, food quality.
- Manage food quality standards by consistently monitoring the temperature of hot food as well as insuring that cold food is stored according to standards.
- Responsible for food safety.
- Perform basic repairs as needed to the kitchen equipment or seek the help of a maintenance person who can perform repairs.
- Ensure consistent and accurate records are kept for temperature logs, critical control points, etc.
- Monitor/manage waste daily.
- Develop and cross train all team members.
- Ensure a sense of urgency from all kitchen team members at all times.
- Assign daily work stations and manage breaks.
- Ensure cleanliness.
- Identify and solve real problems.
- Develop and administer performance indicators and incentive programs to encourage and reward high standards of performance.
- Ensure that senior management are kept abreast of any important information.
- Relay any guest complaints to the Front of House Manager if necessary.
- Assist in filing incident reports when necessary. Refer to the standard operating procedure for more details.
- Be aware of the importance of safety and security.
- Be friendly and courteous to guests at all times.
- Strong verbal and written English skills, with Spanish a plus.
- Dress appropriately for the job with the required attire and/or uniform and maintain proper personal hygiene. Refer to Employee Handbook for more information.
- Work independently with general supervision; learn and interpret laws, rules, regulations, and policies and apply them to specific cases with good judgment.
- Perform analytical studies and draw sound conclusions; communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships; demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population;
- Must be willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Have knowledge and skills of generally accepted Hotel policies and procedures.
- Ability to grasp, lift, carry or otherwise move materials weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Ability to move throughout building, bend, stoop and reach to assist other staff members to complete their individual tasks if situation demands.
