Essential Job Functions:
Hotel Operations
- Implement and manage hotel’s quality control process in order to meet or exceed standards based on Ironwave policies and hotel brand standards. The quality process will encompass multiple departments which the Assistant General Manager is responsible for.
- Conduct BSA’s semi-annually in addition to Food Safety Audits.
- Conduct Housekeeping and Maintenance Inspections with appropriate follow-up.
- Review Labor and Controllable Costs among all departments in the hotel.
- Process and Audit Weekly Payroll to ensure complete accuracy week to week.
- Process Accounts Payable and work with department heads and M3, third party accounting company, to ensure appropriate accounting and check payment.
- Prepare department budgets and work with department heads to plan appropriate spending and scheduling based on weekly and monthly forecasts.
- Work with the General Manager to ensure that the hotel policies, procedures and rules are being met in the day to day operations of the hotel.
- Work closely with Department Heads, Supervisors and Leads in the functions of interviewing, training, recommendations of performance evaluations, resolution of problems, communication, motivation, recognition and or discipline of staff.
- Process Monthly Financial reports and work with GM to analyze and prepare critique.
- Manage Human Resources from a property perspective by being pro-associate, practicing an open door policy and ensuring a guarantee of fair treatment. Utilize and provide associates and management the resources of ADP and or Ironwave Human Resource Director as appropriate.
- Work with Department Heads in the administrative aspects of the hiring/termination process including but not limited to meeting Legal, ADP, Ironwave, Property and Brand Polices, Procedures, Rules as the relate to Safety, Service, Quality, Cash/Credit Procedures, Payroll, Job Descriptions, Food Handling, TIPS Certification, Serve Safe Certification, Taxation, Parking, Uniforms, Job Description, Position Training, Brand training and General Rules as outlined in Associate Handbook.
- Be well informed on key accounts and work with Director of Sales and GM on Sales Strategy to build BT and Group business.
- Available to receive calls 24 hours a day seven days a week when the General Manager is unavailable
Customer support
- Address guest complaints and use prior knowledge and experience to come up with solutions to deliver customer focused results.
- Must be able to access and analyze data in Medallia utilizing critical thinking skills to determine trends. Based on these results, have the ability to develop and implement plans & actions that will address the opportunities.
- Relay customer feedback to department heads and their staff. Feedback will come from customer reviews and comments. Suggest and implement plans of improvement where necessary.
- Interview, hire, and train new employees. Recommend performance evaluations and plans of improvement if necessary. Terminate employees if necessary.
- Plan, organize, and lead hotel meetings which include but are not limited to: staff meetings, department meetings, management meetings, etc.

- Must always maintain a professional appearance.
- Must be able to provide the highest level of customer service, be a role model while having a high degree of interactions with guests, associates, Ironwave staff, brand staff and ownership.
- Must possess a high level of critical thinking and decision-making skills while be self-motivated, proactive, positive and hotel cheerleader.
- Must possess strong leadership and managerial skills to lead several different teams of employees and department heads.
- The ability to use Information Technology which includes Microsoft Office, PMS, F&B POS, MGS, Guest Voice etc.
